The 2010 Oregon Green and Solar Tour is very happy to report that 14 communities from all across Oregon have joined the more than 3200 communities from across the country in presenting tours of innovative green and solar buildings - all in concert with the 15th annual American Solar Energy Society (ASES) National Solar Tour. Most of these tours occur in September and October - many of them coinciding with the official tour date of Saturday, October 2nd.
Solar Oregon has been educating the public about net-zero energy use in the home through its Goal Net-Zero tours and discussion groups. The question has become: Can I utilize renewable energy to achieve Net-Zero energy use for my transportation needs? Let’s explore.
Ramp, 61, is the first PGE customer to generate electricity under a pilot program in which utilities pay homeowners for power produced from solar panels. The program, also available to Pacific Power customers, proved so popular when it launched July 1 that available spots ran out in 15 minutes. The next chance to apply is Oct. 1.
