Basics of Residential Solar (Lake Oswego)

The Basics of Going Solar workshop covers why solar is a smart choice for Oregon.  This free workshop will be held at the Lake Oswego Public Library on Monday, June 14th from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Attendees will walk away with an understanding of why solar is a smart choice for Oregon homeowners. Topics that will be covered include:

  • How solar works in Oregon’s climate
  • Available solar technologies and how they fit into your overall energy use
  • Assessing your site for solar
  • How financial incentives and tax credits can cover up to 80% of the cost
  • Ownership, Leasing, power purchase and financing options
  • Workshop participants will come away with basic knowledge about solar energy systems and will be prepared to do more focused research on their own or start working with a solar contractor.

This solar workshop is sponsored by the Energy Trust of Oregon. Energy Trust provides cash incentives to install solar for Oregonians in Portland General Electric and Pacific Power territories.
