The Basics of Going Solar workshop covers why solar is a smart choice for Oregon.  This free workshop will be held at the Sandy Public Library on Thursday, January 28th from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Attendees will walk away with an understanding of why solar is a smart choice for Oregon homeowners. Topics that will be covered include:

• How solar works in Oregon’s climate
• Available solar technologies and how they fit into your overall energy use
• Assessing your site for solar
• How financial incentives and tax credits can cover up to 80% of the cost
• Ownership, Leasing, power purchase and financing options
• Workshop participants will come away with basic knowledge about solar energy systems and will be prepared to do more focused research on their own or start working with a solar contractor.
