This training is for individuals wanting to enter the solar field. This workshop does not certify individuals to install systems.
32 Hour Workshop Objectives:
Conducting a site analysis, including load analysis Identifying solar heating safety practices, standards, codes and
certification Identifying systems for specific climates and applications Identifying proper operation and installation methods for domestic water Heating, pool heating and space heating Identifying proper use of balance-of-system components and materials such as controllers, tanks, pumps, valves and piping Identifying common solar heating maintenance items
Entry level candidates solve generic, basic problems applicable to commonly installed solar heating systems in North America using schematics, pictures and graphics to demonstrate fundamental solar heating knowledge.
Upon completion, participants will sit for the NABCEP Solar Heating Entry Level Examination. Candidates receiving a passing score of 65% or higher will receive a letter signed by the Chairperson of NABCEP’s Board and a suitable-for-framing document listing the candidate’s name, date and NABCEP identification number.
