May Solar Drinks meets at Hot Lips Pizza's downtown location.  From there, we'll embark on a tour of PSU's solar labs.  First tour begins at 7pm (2nd tour to follow).

Our tour will be led by PSU faculty and students who will guide us through the inorganic and organic solar research labs, and discuss their findings.  In August 2009, Carl Wamser, principal investigator at the PSU lab received a grant from the National Science Foundation to explore how certain materials can be used to fabricate and coat nanofibers, which could then be incorporated into the next generation of solar cells.  Their goal is to create thin, flexible organic films that are as efficient as current technologies, but that are cheaper and more adaptable to integrating into rooftop shingles, home siding, and other building materials.

About Solar Drinks:

Solar Drinks is an opportunity for folks in the greater Portland area to meet other community members who support renewable energy. Come join us for a relaxed social and networking event where you can speak with Solar Oregon staff, solar industry members, and your neighbors about any topic under the sun!

Solar Drinks is a free event, but we are asking for a $5 suggested donation from non Solar Oregon Members to help us cover the costs of providing this event.

Sorry, but May Solar Drinks is Full! We hope to see you in June!
