North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) Photovoltaic Entry Level Training and Examination
Chemeketa Community College in Salem is once again offering a FREE introductory
course for individuals wanting to get into the solar field. This course
does not certify individuals to install PV systems.
The training provides an introduction to the fundamental prinicples
of the application, design, installation, and operation of grid-tied and
stand-alone photovoltaic (PV) systems.
The PV Learning Objectives include ten (10) skill sets:
1. PV Markets and Applications
2. Safety Basics
3. Electricity Basics
4. Solar Energy Fundamentals
5. PV Module Fundamentals
6. System Components
7. PV System Sizing Principles
8. PV System Electrical Design
9. PV System Mechanical Design
10. Performance Analysis, Maintenance, and Troubleshooting
Upon completion, participants will sit for the NABCEP PV Entry Level
examination. Candidates receiving a passing score of 65% or higher will
receive a letter signed by the Chairperson of NABCEP's Board and a
suitable-for-framing document listing the Candidate's name, date, and
NABCEP identification number.
This course is FREE, but pre-registration is required, and seating is limited.
