This month join us at Solar Oregon, Solar Star Members the Hawthorne Auto Clinic who's 16 kW PV array provided over 33% of their energy usage in 2009. You can monitor the system output here by clicking here . This system was installed by Solar Oregon Professional Member REC Solar.

For 27 years the Hawthorne Auto Clinic has provided environmentally responsible, full service maintenance and repair for most 1990 and newer, import and domestic, cars and light trucks.

This month Stephen Rosenstock will discuss problems and issues that face installation of EV Charging Stations and bring up interesting issues of UL listing, who provides the insurance, what UL Listing means for insurances, the costs that will be associated with the EV Charge Stations.

We will have a Nissan Sentra who's electrical system is powered by roof mounted PV paneling (50watts) and regeneration from Portland's down hill roads and streets and highways.
I can show of the original tech that allows the car to get a fuel mileage boost of just under 9mpg according to CARB through a H-FTP test in 2008.
