Join us this month for the most recent details and data from the Solar Hope Project from OIT student Paul Warlick and Professor Slobodan Petrovic, who just returned from their 2012 Tanzania trip in late September!

Every year OIT students come together through the Solar Hope Project and travel to Tanzania to install solar and spread education for sustainable projects. The foundation "Solar Hope" aims to reach an unparalleled goal for a non-profit organization of installing 1 GW of renewable power in Africa by 2020, they also have an immediate goal of  bringing 1 MW of solar power to rural areas of Tanzania by year 2014! 

Come meet up this Tuesday the 16th of October!  Listen and talk with project leaders and participants! Find out how close they are and what this years projects have achieved!

While there check out the site - The Historic Kenton Fire House - where they have installed their own range of sustainable features including Solar, Geothermal and Bioswales!

Solar Drinks is an opportunity for folks in the greater Portland area to meet other community members who support renewable energy. Come join us for a relaxed social and networking event where you can speak with Solar Oregon staff, solar industry members, and your neighbors about any topic under the sun!

Solar Drinks is a free event, but we are asking for a $5 suggested donation from non Solar Oregon Members to help us cover the costs of providing this event.
