A Letter from Claire Carlson

Dear Solar Oregon Members and Supporters,

I would like to let you know that I have transitioned to a new position and I will no longer be leading Solar Oregon as Executive Director. I have accepted a position with Lockheed Martin's Energy and Environment Services and will be working on program development for Energy Trust of Oregon's Multifamily program. After 4 years with Solar Oregon working with advocates, homeowners, business owners, industry members and others I feel that I am, and will remain, part of an increasingly important and growing community which recognizes the need to increase our individual contributions to the energy needs of our state and our world. From day one I have had the privilege to learn from, and work next to, a diverse and passionate network of solar energy supporters who recognize the value of Solar Oregon's mission to lead the way to a clean energy future by demonstrating the successful use of solar energy and who choose to live this through their personal and business choices.

To everyone who has supported Solar Oregon and our work during my tenure I would like to say thank you! I would also like to encourage you to join us and become a member if you aren't already. Our fearless Board President Ron "Mac" McDowell will be stepping into the Executive Director position to continue our important programs including the k-12 program, Solar Now! University, Solar Drinks and more.

I would also like to add that although I am not going to be leading from a staff position I am going to remain involved with Solar Oregon as a volunteer and advocate. You will still be able to reach me at if you have any questions.

Thank you so much for your continued support for Solar Oregon's work to promote clean, local energy from the sun!
