Meet the new face of residential solar at Energy Trust

Jason Jepsen, Energy Trust Residential Solar Project Manager

My name is Jason Jepsen, and I am the new Residential Solar Project Manager at the Energy Trust of Oregon.  For the past 15 years, I have owned and operated a solar energy and hydronic heating contracting business in southern Colorado.  In this role, I designed, sold and installed many solar electric, solar hot water, and boiler-based radiant heating systems.  I have lived off-grid since 1995, and have built several solar-powered, energy efficient homes, including two of my own.  I hope to bring my diverse, hands-on experience to benefit the Oregon solar market.

My goal is to increase solar energy systems installed on residences in the state of Oregon.  I plan to achieve this through cooperative networking, education, and creative promotion.  I aspire to work closely with and help contractors integrate solar energy systems into their offerings.  Solar hot water is, I feel, especially under-utilized, and stands to benefit many households.  Community solar and third party avenues could help many who do not have solar access, or otherwise could not afford the upfront cost, participate in solar energy.  I hope to enhance partnerships with organizations like OSEIA and Solar Oregon to effectively accomplish these aspirations.  Thanks for allowing me into the fold, and please let me know of your ideas and needs. .
