Meet the Team - Corey Omey
Solar Oregon Board Member
Corey is an architect, LEED AP, and Partner at Ernest R Munch Architecture, Urban Planning LLC. He is an avid solar supporter, with solar on their own home that he remodeled with his wife, Deb. They are true Solar Ambassadors. Their home is often shown on green home tours and is a model of how to incorporate energy efficiency, modern aesthetics, durability, art, light, renewable energy, and recycled, reclaimed, and re-used materials into a remodel project.
Corey began his professional career in 1998 as an intern with Ernest R Munch Architect LLC, working as part of the team on retail, winery, and housing projects. He received his B.S. in architecture from University of Michigan, and MS in architecture from University of Oregon.
This is Corey’s favorite time of year, as the sun begins to show itself more often, and the solar systems begin to convert more good energy. This time of year also mixes his love for solar with his love of wine, or more specifically, wineries. He has worked on several wineries, and appreciates the commitment to sustainability and solar that many Oregon wineries share. Corey is the organizer and host of the second annual Solar Winery Tour scheduled for next month – Saturday, May 10th. Solar Oregon is grateful that Corey is spending his time with their new baby, Henry, to organize the event. We are confident that this year’s Winery Hosts can teach us how to combine renewables and green practices with making great wines. See our accompanying story in this month’s e-newsletter.
