BY: Solar Oregon
A new Lake County Renewable Energy Steering Committee is forming to direct funds from the
Oregon Department of Energy to new solar energy projects in Lake County.

The Steering Committee will determine renewable energy projects that best serve Lake County
communities and provide leadership in carrying out these projects.

-Committee members will oversee a community budget of $20,000 to be used to implement
projects in Lake County that advance the adoption of renewable energy use and energy
efficiency, and provide economic benefit to local communities.

-Possible projects include tours, workshops, trainings, youth energy education, community
bulk purchase programs, an installation on a public building or other projects that reduce use
of fossil fuels, promote energy independence, and provide educational value.

Steering Committee members are strongly encouraged to attend the Solar Now University
, a two and a half day conference on residential, commercial and community solar
energy development.  The conference will be held September 20-22nd in Bend, Oregon.

Conference registration fee and lodging expenses will be paid, and travel expenses reimbursed
