Solar Oregon says good-bye to Emily Krafft
Coming to Solar Oregon as an AmeriCorps alum whereas she had formerly worked with the Northwest Service Academy and Confluence Environmental Center before moving into the renewable energy field, Emily Krafft proved a quick study who immersed herself into the world of renewable and solar energy.
As her knowledge and expertise in the solar industry grew she collaborated and led multiple projects connecting Oregon with solar. The work she did included: introducing renewable energy curriculum to local schools; organizing the Solar Now! University Conference; working in conjunction with a steering committee of residents in Lake County to develop renewable energy mobile demonstration projects; working with the Northwest Solar Communities; assisting with organization of the Solar Forward! Program, and much more.
It is an undeniably true that Emily will be missed as she has played a major part of what Solar Oregon has been able to do over the last two plus years. We are sad to see such a good person and great part of team go. Nevertheless, we are proud of the work she now does at the Xerces Society in supporting their pollinator conservation efforts. There, she connects farmers, land managers, and gardeners to the educational resources to help them implement pollinator conservation strategies. We all wish her good luck and look forward to seeing more of what she does!
