Your contractor will complete and submit your Energy Trust incentive application form on your behalf. Your Energy Trust cash incentive is applied to the cost of your solar installation up front—like a coupon—reducing the amount you pay your contractor.
Energy Trust of Oregon Incentives
$0.40 (PGE or Pacific Power customers with electric water heating)
$0.30 (NW Natural or Cascade Natural Gas customers with gas water heating)
$1500 Max per home
Oregon Residential Energy Tax Credit for solar water heating (Oregon Department of Energy)
Application sent in to obtain certificate to file with your Oregon State tax return.
$0.60 per rated kWh savings for the first year, up to $1,500
Federal income tax credit for solar water heating:
For taxpayers installing solar PV or water heating systems at their residence, use the Residential Energy Efficient Property Form 5695. For corporate taxpayers, use Form 3468 for Commercial Solar Incentives (Investment Credit).
30 percent of net installed cost (net installed cost = total installed cost – Energy Trust cash incentive).
