Title: VP, Renewable Resources
Salary Range: $155,900-204,500
Responsible for origination, evaluation and execution of strategic renewable development and acquisition opportunities. Manages PacifiCorp’s renewable resources organization which oversees wind and solar operations across six states, renewable resource development across the West and demand-side management in Oregon, Washington and California. Ensures alignment with short and long term organizational goals and objectives. Works closely with senior management to keep them up-to-date on strategic opportunities.
Responsibilities of this position include the following:
- Oversee the origination, evaluation and execution of renewable development and acquisition opportunities.
- Oversee the safe, reliable and cost effective operations of the company’s wind and solar generation facilities.
- Oversee the management and delivery of demand side management programs in Oregon (in coordination with the Energy Trust of Oregon), Washington and California.
- Establish strategic business objectives, policies and plans in support of company renewable resources strategic goals.
- Works closely with senior management to identify and prioritize efforts in support of organizational objectives.
- Represents the company in establishing policy, developing alternatives and negotiations with customers, renewable developers, renewable advocacy organizations, and other groups as required.
- Represents the company in connection with renewable policy and strategy, including in regulatory proceedings, cost recovery of programs and legislative forums.
- Represents the company with key stakeholders including state and federal regulators, environmental agencies and other interested parties.
- Develop financial models and strategies to guide investment in renewable resources at the least cost and least risk for customers and support economic development in the company’s service territory.
- Provide executive leadership for energy efficiency programs in Washington and California, and in Oregon partnership with the Energy Trust of Oregon.
- Manage and allocate financial and employee resources within approved budgets.
- Responsible for selecting, coaching, and developing employees in accordance with company talent management and succession planning processes. Implement and support company programs and policies.
- Demonstrated strong initiative and leadership skills
- Innovative deal structuring experience with demonstrated results delivering balanced customer solutions
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Finance or applicable field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A minimum of ten years of energy related experience.
- A minimum of five years of experience in people management.
- Knowledge of the utility business and industry practices.
- Management skills including the ability to establish objectives, execute policy, monitor resources, and manage the development or implementation of a system, program, or process.
- Demonstrated written and oral skills and experience interfacing and presenting to senior level executive management both internally and externally.
- Knowledge of applicable federal, state, local laws, regulations.
- Experience in budget preparation, analysis and cost tracking.
- Experience developing and delivering utility-scale wind, solar, storage or other renewable resource projects.
- Knowledge of industry, regulatory and political environment.
- Knowledge of company’s strategic plan, as well as company policies, procedures, and practices, and federal, state, and local governmental laws and regulations.
- Hydro-electric operations and relicensing experience addressing fish passage and water quality
