Solar Drinks January – Centering Frontline Communities in the New Energy Movement
Join Solar Oregon for a fantastic Solar Drinks dedicated to Climate Justice. We’ll be hearing from Carolina Iraheta Gonzalez from the non-profit Verde who will speak about how to address local disparities through energy conservation and generation. Carolina will also be talking about priorities in the implementation of the historic Portland Clean Energy Fund.
Will also hear from Sherrie Pelsma from the Community Energy Project. She’ll be speaking about how her social service agency became involved in solar legislation in designing the game changing Community Solar program. She’ll also speak to how environmentalists can engage with low income people to tackle entrenched problems of poverty and pollution at the same time.

Solar Oregon provides a variety of solar workshops and webinars. In our monthly How to Go Solar + Storage webinar, we will answer your questions about how solar works, share information about incentives available, and help you take the first step to add solar to your home or business. Participants will come away with basic knowledge about solar energy systems and will be prepared to do more focused research on their own, or start working with a contractor right away.
