There is a lot to learn and know about solar energy as well as how solar works in Oregon. Here are some common questions Oregonians have about solar and storage. If you have any additional questions, feel free to contact Solar Oregon at info@solaroregon.org.
- Where can I learn more about solar and storage?
Consider attending one of the upcoming workshops listed in our upcoming events to learn about solar and storage, available incentives, and review your questions. You can also watch a recording here.
- What are the tradeoffs between installing storage at the same time as solar versus afterward?
Storage is routinely added to existing solar systems. However, if you know you want storage, it is typically cheaper and easier to install it at the same time as your solar system. Installing both at the same time reduces installation, labor, and permitting costs.
- Will a recording of this webinar be available after the online workshop?
Yes! We record all of our webinars and host them on our YouTube channel. If you registered for an event through Eventbrite, you will receive an email with a link to the recording. See all of our YouTube content here.
- How can I select a reputable solar contractor?
We recommend working with an Energy Trust Trade Ally contractor and getting quotes from at least three contractors. These contractors are rigorously qualified by Energy Trust, are required to stay up to date on Energy Trust standards and installation quality requirements and are able to offer you Energy Trust incentives. Energy Trust provides a convenient online tool to connect you to highly-rated Trade Ally contractors who serve your area:

- Are there timelines for when the incentives will expire?
Incentives and rebates can change due to factors like funding. For the most up-to-date information about solar and storage incentives, attend one of our frequent How to Go Solar + Storage workshops and consult your contractor.
