Basics of Residential Solar Workshop at Portland’s February Fix-It-Fair

Held annually by the Portland Bureau of Planning and Sustainability, the February Fix-it Fair will be held at Ron Russell Middle School on February 20th.

About the Fix-it Fair:

The Fix-it Fair is a free event where you can learn ways to save money and connect to resources by visiting exhibits and participating in expert-led workshops.The exhibits and workshops will focus on:

  • Home and Personal Health
  • Sound Money and Safe Home
  • Home Repair and Utility Savings
  • Yard and Garden

Solar Oregon will be giving a Basics of Solar Workshop (Time TBD) and also tabling at this event!

Our Basics of Solar workshop will cover the basics of why solar is a smart choice for Oregon homeowners. Current financial incentives may cover 70-80% of the cost. We will show how well solar works in Oregon’s climate, identify available solar technologies and financial incentives, and discuss how to go about choosing a contractor. Participants will come away with basic knowledge about solar energy systems and will be prepared to do more focused research on their own, or start working with a contractor right away.

Energy Trust of Oregon provides cash incentives to install solar and contractor connections to experienced trade allies so that obtaining solar for your home or business. With solar and storage becoming more accessible, homes and businesses across the state are installing systems. We also host solar showcases to highlight these projects and give you a chance to see how your neighbors and fellow Oregonians are using solar power.
