Green Energy Series #18: A Unique System PV + Thermal – Lessons Learned
Fifteen years ago, a packaged mechanical/electrical system branded “PVT†(standing for photovoltaic thermal) was developed by engineers in California. This system harvests heat from the photovoltaic panels for use in the home, while cooling the PV panels. One of the first PVT systems installed was on Doug Boleyn’s new home built in 2009. This talk will discuss the lessons learned from the more than 10 years that the system has been operating in a suburb of Portland, OR.
