Solar Energy Showcase: Bethlehem Inn
Bethlehem Inn is a community-supported shelter that serves unhoused individuals in Bend, Oregon. Responding to increased need for its services in 2020, it completed an expansion and redevelopment of its facility that serves single residents and families with nourishing meals, safety, lodging, and various social services. Thanks to financial support from Energy Trust of Oregon and Pacific Power, as well as the expertise of project architect BLRB Architects, the new facility saves over ten thousand dollars per year in energy costs.
Join us at 12 PM on Monday, June 20 for a webinar panel discussion to hear the story of Bethlehem Inn’s clean energy transformation, and what it means to the community. We are honored to be joined by our two guest speakers:
Gwenn Wysling, Executive Director, Bethlehem Inn – Gwenn Wysling has led Bethlehem Inn as its Executive Director since 2010, prior to which she served as a member of the Inn’s board of directors for a year and a half. The organization currently has two shelters that offer emergency shelter for men, women and families. Gwenn’s career spans more than 20 years in the hospitality industry working as a Human Resources professional. She earned her BA in Business Administration from Washington State University.
Seth Anderson, Principal, BLRB Architects – Seth is the director of BLRB Architect’s Bend office and is the Principal in charge of BLRB’s commercial and housing projects. With 17+ years living, working, playing in Bend, he is deeply committed to enhancing the quality of life for all Central Oregon’s residents. His commitment to community is expressed in his service to non-profit organizations, professional focus on housing and house-lessness issues, and engagement with the local A/E/C industry. His architectural experience consists of senior living, multifamily housing, mixed use, and nonprofit projects.
