Solar Energy Showcase: New Day School

June 28, 2022 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

The Kishalay building at New Day School in inner Southest Portland is an ultra-energy efficient, healthy space where preschoolers can learn and grow. Thanks to significant energy upgrades and a photovoltaic array generating an annual 45 kW, it’s also Oregon’s first solar-powered Zero Energy preschool. This comprehensive whole-building renovation designed and built by Green Hammer reflects the school’s Neo-Humanist philosophy, which aims to help children see interconnections and develop deep love and respect for all.

Join Solar Oregon at 6 PM on Tuesday, June 28 for an on-site panel discussion with the designers of New Day School’s transformation. We’ll hear about the features that make this space remarkable, the community support that enabled it, and the connection between educational philosophy and sustainability. Tickets are limited, so make sure to register in advance.

PLEASE NOTE: shoes must be removed when entering this event venue.
