Your Home & The Electrical Grid
Where does our electricity come from? How do natural disasters impact our power grid? How does electricity impact the climate? Learn about concepts like peak demand, distributions systems planning, how the climate crisis impacts our electrical systems, and what’s being done about it. This presentation will be basic, so is perfect for beginners to the topic, and is specific to Oregon.
We are honored to be joined by our special guest speaker, who will be guiding our exploration of these important concepts:
Sherrie Villmark, Program Director, Community Energy Project – Sherrie oversees the Community Education and Advocacy departments within CEP. She has nearly 20 years of experience in a variety of community education approaches, including environmental interpretation, voter education and mobilization, skill-building, public speaking, consulting, and advocacy with decision-makers. She has over 15 years of experience in program development and design, from small workshop programs to the low-income component of the Oregon Community Solar Program.
