Oregon Solar Plan Outlines 10-year Solar Blueprint

March 30, 2017

Solar Drinks in Prineville celebrate the Oregon Solar Plan release.

Earlier this month the Oregon Solar Plan was released by Oregon Solar Energy Industries Association and Green Energy Institute.  The plan provides a long-term vision for solar in Oregon.
It outlines the bold goal to achieve 10% of Oregon’s electricity mix from solar by 2027, that’s enough solar to power over 500,000 homes across Oregon.  This plan is bold because Oregon currently has enough solar to power only 30,000 homes. The projected growth over the next ten years would mean strategic policy support, a focus on workforce development to train a large enough workforce, and more. Now that the plan has been launched, it now needs grassroots support to make it a reality!
